Towards the end of last season, we had the great pleasure of hosting Micky Hazard at The Greenhill Bowls Club – all courtesy of Ralphie and Charlotte’s fantastic organisation. As with the previous two evenings, with Legends ’Captain’ Stevie Perryman and ‘the Gaffer’ Keith Burkinshaw, a top, top, terrific time was had by all – as a certain ex-manager would say.
Our good friend Stacy Haley – Supporters Club contact at Tottenham Hotspur – asked us to write a short piece for the Match Day programme which was due to be published for the last ever game at White Hart Lane v Manchester United. We were really excited and felt privileged but the day came, we got up the ground early to secure our copies but alas we did not make an appearance in the £10 special souvenir publication. However, we still felt a sense of pride and achievement when South Dorset Spurs made its belated appearance for the first ever Tottenham league game played at Wembley Stadium.
